Confirm the travel purpose
Tourism, family travel and business visits can use temporary visitor routes, but the supporting evidence differs.
Prepare applicant information
Names, dates, employment or business, finances, host information and travel history should be entered accurately.
Organise supporting documents
Use evidence that supports the actual purpose and profile rather than adding unrelated paperwork.
Submit through the applicable IRCC route
Follow the current official portal instructions for the application type and circumstances.
Complete biometrics if instructed
If biometrics are required, wait for the official instruction letter and follow the authorised collection process.
Respond to later requests
Additional information, medicals or passport submission may be requested depending on the case.
Keep a record at each stage.
Save the application copy, fee receipt, submission confirmation and every instruction letter. Check the account or communication channel used for your application regularly. A submission confirmation is not a visa approval.
Government fees and assistance charges
Government fees, biometrics where required and any optional assistance charges should be understood separately. Ask which services are included before proceeding and check the official fee schedule before paying.
Processing time and travel plans
IRCC processing estimates vary and are not guaranteed decision dates. Additional information or a medical request may affect the next steps. Avoid committing to non-refundable travel on the assumption that your visa will be approved in time.
Biometrics and passport instructions
Follow the official letters for where, when and how to complete these steps. Remote assistance does not replace attendance when biometrics are required, and you should not send an original passport to the consultancy without a clear, agreed reason.
